RileyJonesArt.com is the official web site for artist
Jim Riley. Jim chose his web site name to honor his parents by incorporating
their family surnames.
Jim was born and raised in Easton, Massachusetts.
He attended college in Maine and also served in the U. S. Navy.
He's traveled extensively around the United States and the world,
especially Europe. Jim resides in Boston's South End and Provincetown,
where he has lived for the majority of his adult life.
Jim has always been interested in the arts, and
started seriously collecting paintings in 1979, through his friend
John Sawyer, originally of Winchester, Massachusetts. Some of Jim's
influences include Horace Brown, Kenneth Stubbs, George McNeil,
and various Provincetown artists.
From his interest and appreciation of art, grew
his desire to create. Jim is self-taught, beyond a few art courses.
His many years as a decorative painter helped Jim to gain and hone
his strong color, tone, texture, material and medium skills.
